Like its close competitors Lawry's, Tony Roma's is no stranger to those who hunt for nothing but the best ribs in Singapore. While the restaurant packs to the brim with a diverse crowd of family get-togethers and birthday celebrations, it is relatively quieter during weekday lunch hour and thus easier to get a window seat overlooking the koi pond. Most importantly, weekday lunch sets never fail to pack good deals and huge discounts.

By now, someone out there has to be wondering: what would this pescetarian eat in a meat place?
Grilled salmon with sides of mash and coleslaw |
Who said the meat place didn't know its fish? The selection of pescetarian-friendly mains might have been limited, but they were conjured with the same intention to pamper the taste buds. The fillet was crispy on the edges yet tender in the middle, and was topped with a tangy lemon-butter sauce. YUM. The sides were forgettable when you have such an impressive protagonist.
For the price tag, it's easy to turn away from splurging at Tony Roma's for a normal meal and opt for their cheaper counterpart Aston's Specialty just a few metres away. So we chose a really special occasion - our fourth anniversary, to be exact - to dine here.
